The British Council takes the care and wellbeing of children and young people very seriously.
We believe that every child should be looked after properly and kept safe, and while you can play an important part in looking after yourself, it is adults’ responsibility to make sure children are safe.
If you feel that you have not been treated properly or are unhappy, upset or concerned about anything, speak to someone you trust.
Who should I speak to?
We know that it can be difficult to speak out and tell someone what is happening, but if you have a worry, it can really help to talk to someone you trust.
Whatever the problem is, talking about it can be the first step to solving it. If there’s an adult you trust like a parent, carer or a teacher talk to them first about what’s happening.
If you’ve got a problem or something you’re worried about don’t keep it to yourself, speak out.
