“Researcher Connect” is a programme that promotes the development of excellent communication skills for international, multicultural academic contexts. This project is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships Programme to build strategic, mutually beneficial partnerships in tertiary education between the UK and other countries. These contribute to stronger, more inclusive and globally connected tertiary education systems.
Given the importance of research and innovation to build strong and prosperous knowledge economies, it is critical to develop talented researchers who can communicate their work on various levels. Improving the communication skills of researchers can have a beneficial effect not just on the individual researcher’s performance and career, but also on the institution that they work for and the wider society, through increasing the reach and impact of their research.
Researcher Connect online provides participants with the insights, understanding, and tools to communicate effectively, whatever the situation or context. The course has been delivered across the globe and participant feedback has consistently shown that the workshop enhances researchers’ communication skills, knowledge, and ability
